Bubba Mints or Kush Mints? That is the question I keep asking as I sit here and write this review. I’ve spent at least an hour skimming through the internet trying to find information on this cross. It seemed like no matter how many different ways I entered the strain into the search bar, Kush Mints was the only strain that consistently popped up. So I referred back to my notes, and after reviewing them, what do you know?! The two strains I write down most

Looks and Presentation

Bubba Mints or Kush Mints? That is the question I keep asking as I sit here and write this review. I’ve spent at least an hour skimming through the internet trying to find information on this cross. It seemed like no matter how many different ways I entered the strain into the search bar, Kush Mints was the only strain that consistently popped up. So I referred back to my notes, and after reviewing them, what do you know?! The two strains I write down most often are Bubba Kush and Kush Mints. Sooo, let’s talk about it! If this was Kush Mints, then it’s not a pheno that I have yet to run into. From a glance, there were a fair amount of Animal Mints characteristics. For instance, there were shades of brown, but not dark brown, highlighted by hues of a vibrant light green. The only true Bubba feature I could point out looks-wise was the blanket of trichomes covering the buds, as Animal Mints is not known to have such a heavy coating. Based on the $55 ticket this bud comes with, I have to rate the looks and presentation a 3.8 out of 5.

Smell

The aroma was a little more promising. Composed of a mouth- watering hashy scent with a touch of sweetness, this strain had Bubba written all over it. As soon as I cracked the buds open, I got a blast of that sweet and heavenly gasoline smell. It was pungent, and over time I started to notice those mouth watering aromas. Blended with the gassy notes, was a very light hint of what reminded me of either chocolate or coffee. The combination of these scents alone was an absolute treat and I definitely rate the smell a 4 out of 5.

Flavor

Most of the time it usually takes a puff or two before any terpenes become detectable. However, that was not the case with these Bubba Mints. From the spark, I was instantly reminded of Kush Mints. On the inhale, it was sweet like sugar cane, followed by a combination of mint and kush. Now, when I say kush, I am not talking those earthy pine-like terps; I am talking about those classic hashish terpenes that are usually associated with Bubba Kush. Anyone who has been smoking for at least a decade knows exactly what I am talking about. What made it better was the fact that, as you kept smoking it, the flavor got better and better. It was creamy! Excuse my french, but it was nutty! It was tremendously sweet with a splash of gas. All in all, I give the flavor a solid 5 out of 5.

High

This strain was extremely nostalgic for me; as I smoked it, I could not help but flash back to my younger days. The days when my smoking buddies and I would all pitch in to get a $20 gram of Bubba Kush. That gram would last us at least two days. For one, this was basically gold since we were really only smoking reggie back then. Secondly, that stuff used to get us higher than we had planned. By the time I was done day dreaming, reality set in, and gravity seemed to be focusing on my eyelids. The vibes I got from this strain were unreal, and I truly appreciate a good strain that can take me back to my early days. I definitely give the high and the experience a 5 out of 5 for sure. If you ever see it at Tru|Med in the future, I recommend you get it.
